Feathers.

FEATHERS

the poem that is my heart flutters and beats wings against its’ bony cage.

soft white feathers burst through, floating out through my skin

the current from my grasping hand sends them circling,

gently spiralling, dancing through the air

just out of reach.

carried away like a wish

where will they rest? these soft fragments of my heart?
