Things My Mother Taught Me…

Never lose your joy.

I am good enough.

Laugh… Loudly . Raucously. Until your belly hurts, until you are nearly peeing yourself, and you snort and gasp for breath.

Get your hands dirty.

Don’t give away your power.

Good table manners speak volumes.

A firm handshake speaks volumes.

Babies and birthing bring you close to divinity.

Motherhood is messy.

Words are powerful, use them with care.

Don’t take love for granted.

If it’s hurting you, it shouldn’t be pleasing him.

Motherhood is a sacred contract.

Trust your gut. It is your greatest ally.

She is still here, in the great wide open spaces of the world; the sweeping lands of Wyoming, and in the margins; the beachy oceans’ edge, and at twilight in my garden

Amber, this is utterly beautiful and very moving. I can feel Jackie with us all so strongly. Thank you for doing this; I am very much looking forward to reading your blogs…and would love to see you again if you spend any time in the Sheridan area. My love to you, Tessa xx
